Studio Rules and Policies

General Rules

  • All students must have the Emergency Contact Form, Liability Waiver and Photo and Video Consent & Release Form completed before the first day of class.

  • All students 10 and under must have a parent or guardian present during class time. 

  • No gum allowed in class.

  • Water is the only drink allowed in class. Please keep all other drinks in the waiting room.

  • No food allowed in class. Please keep any food in the waiting room.

  • Students are allowed to have phones and electronics with them as long as they are silenced and put away during class time (unless directed otherwise).

  • Please keep the studio and waiting area clean.

  • While in the waiting area, please be respectful of classes and other visitors. We ask that you keep conversations at a low volume.

  • Please do not interrupt class by speaking to instructors or students during the class time.

  • No street shoes are allowed to be worn during class.

  • No animals allowed inside of the studio (unless it is a service animal).

  • Any inappropriate or slanderous remarks about Sarah Noel’s School of Dance on any social media platform will be cause for immediate dismissal from the studio.

Dress Code

  • All students must follow the dress code. Students are required to have the proper dance shoes according to each of their classes. Appropriate attire and dance shoes are all listed here.

Payments

Payment is done online only. A $20 dollar late fee will be added to your account for each month tuition is not paid on time. You will be billed a one time only, non-refundable $30 registration fee. This registration fee will be billed separately from your membership. If the registration fee is not paid within two weeks, we will release the student’s spot and you will have to sign up again. If a student chooses to withdraw from class, you are still responsible for tuition for that month. Full payment is due regardless of illness, holidays or inclement weather. 

Recital

  • All students participate in our end of year dance recital, unless stated otherwise at the discretion of Sarah Shute. Students cannot perform in our recital if they are not registered by November 1, 2023.

  •  Costume fees for the year end recital are non-refundable. Costumes may only be taken home when the account is paid in full with no balance remaining.

Class Cancellations

  • Government mandated closures, closures for acts of nature such as snow storms or any other reason deemed necessary at the discretion of Sarah Shute will be announced via email and posted on social media accounts. There is no discount or refund for canceled or missed classes.

Injuries

​​

  • Sarah Noel’s School of Dance is not responsible for injuries sustained in class, on premises or at any related event.

Lost, Stolen and Misplaced Articles

​

  • Sarah Noel’s School of Dance is not responsible for lost, stolen and misplaced articles. We highly recommended putting names on all belongings.

Communication

​

  • Communication is done electronically and in the studio. Studio updates and news will be sent out through email and will be posted on our official social media accounts. Parents/Guardians and students will also be given in person updates before, during or after class. It is highly encouraged that everyone follows our official Facebook and Instagram accounts. If you ever have a question or concern, you can contact Sarah Shute directly via email, social media or in person at the studio. All contact information can be found here.

Zero Tolerance Policies

Harassment and Workplace Violence

​

  • Sarah Noel’s School of Dance has Zero Tolerance on or near our premises for bullying, hate crimes, vandalism and harassment of any kind including on the basis of race, national or ethnic origin, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, marital status, family status, disability or pardoned conviction. Failure to comply with this policy may result in dismissal from the studio and legal action under the Human Rights code. If you feel you are experiencing harassment or violence, immediately inform Sarah Shute and provide a written account to sarahnoelsschoolofdance@gmail.com. Immediate action will be taken to address your concerns following the prescribed steps.

Smoking, Vaping and Controlled Substances

  • Students, instructors, parents/guardians, friends, guests and all others are prohibited from obtaining, selling, possessing or using alcohol, cannabis, prescription drugs not prescribed for that person or illegal drugs on or near Sarah Noel’s School of Dance premises, or while attending classes or performances. Further, Sarah Noel’s School of Dance does not allow abuse of alcohol, cannabis, prescription drugs not prescribed for that person or illegal drugs while in attendance at Sarah Noel’s School of Dance events or events where Sarah Noel’s School of Dance is in attendance. Failure to comply with these policies may result in dismissal from the studio and legal action.
